Brighter Holidays 2025

Hello Friends,

Did you know that there are less than 50 days until the holiday season? For many of us, the oncoming winter reminds us of warm gatherings and family traditions. Here at Turning Points for Children, we have a holiday tradition of our own: Brighter Holidays, our annual gift-giving program to the children of Philadelphia who need warmth during the coldest months of the year. Please help Turning Points for Children in our commitment to brighten the holidays by providing a special gift to every child and teen under our care.

Ways you can make holidays brighter for children in care:

Donate to our virtual gift-giving campaign and help us raise $20,000 so to purchase a quality gift for every child and teen under our care! Donations can be made by following the link here.

$50 – buys toys for two children.

$75 – provides baby toys and clothes for a parenting teen in our ELECT program.

$100 – provides gifts for a family of 3 in foster care.

$250 – provides new electronics for 2 older youth in our LifeSet program.

Help us get every child a gift here.

Spread the word by following our updates on social media (handles below) and telling your friends and family about how they can make the holidays special for children and teens in care.

Drop-off gifts. You are more than welcome to drop-off or ship gifts to our main office. We are aiming to have toys dropped off by Wednesday, December 11th or reach out to me to logistics. If you need any inspiration, feel free to take a look at our Walmart online wish-list and our recommended gift list and book list, which are linked! And lastly, if you wrap gifts, please be sure to put a label on it that details what the gift is. This makes it easier for our families to pick out presents that their children would enjoy.

Feel free to send any gifts to our offices or reach out and we can discuss a plan for drop-off:

Support our food pantry program, FAWN!

FAWN has two food pantries, one in Tilden Middle School (Southwest) and one in the Rising Sun Health Center (Olney area). FAWN provides fresh produce, meat, dairy, and non-perishable products to around 200-300 families each week, but with SNAP benefits paused, our families need extra support.

You can support the families who visit our pantries by organizing a drive for non-perishable food items, toiletries, and household products and making essentials kits for our neighbors who need it the most.

Feel free to start a drive on your own or join together with a team of your co-workers or community members!
