On September 30, Turning Points for Children, a PHMC subsidiary, held their annual Kids at Heart Gala in partnership with the Philadelphia Film Society at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. This year’s Kids at Heart Gala inspired a nostalgic feeling at the outdoor drive-in movie location and attendees were treated to watching Jumanji from their cars.
This year’s Kids at Heart Gala theme was Champions of Hope, which Turning Points for Children used to honor the organization’s Impact Partners, including Aruba (a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company), EDA Contractors, Health Partners Plan & Foundation, Starbucks Partners, TD Bank Social Impact Team, and Philadelphia Phillies Outfielder Andrew McCutchen and his wife Maria. Before the movie, attendees were presented a video featuring representatives from each Impact Partner organization discussing the importance of their work with Turning Points and being champions of hope.
In addition to honoring the 2021 Impact Partners, Turning Points also highlighted an incredible foster care story. You can watch the story about three-year old Angel below.
